Cody Jenner had a perfect night at the Cahokia Creek Dirt Riders hillclimb on August 7, winning the two classes he entered and taking the Fast Time award. He took his first win in the 450cc class, topping the 125 foot hill in 3.553 seconds on his first ride, a time good enough for the class win, but came back in the second round to card an outstanding 3.389 second time on his Yamaha YZ450F just to emphasize the win. Matt Peters and Gordon Green were second and third with times of 3.638 and 3.656 seconds on their KTMs.

    In 600cc class action, Jenner found himself in third place at the end of the first round behind Jared McKay and Jake Tackitt with a 3.306 second time. McKay had flown his KX540 over the top in 3.260 seconds to take the first round class lead and set the fast time mark. But Jenner was even faster in the second round, blazing over the top in 3.198 seconds to take the class lead, and set a new fast time. McKay nearly overtook him with an excellent second ride of his own, but his 3.224 second run would give him only second place. Tackitt’s 3.303 second first round ride left him in third place.

    McKay still had an excellent evening, as he picked up two class wins to go with his second place finish in the 600cc class. He is the point leader in the 250cc and Open Stock classes, and claimed the wins in both. His 3.578 second first round ride on his classy Yamaha in the 250cc class put him in the lead at break time, but Jon Creek slipped under him in the second round with a 3.523 second run on his RM250. McKay got the lead back, and the win, with a 3.504 second time on his second ride.

    McKay also had to come from behind in the Open Stock class, as his 3.940 second time on his first ride put him in third place behind Mark Williams and Jeff Jack. Williams carded a 3.697 second time for the class lead, which McKay beat with a 3.630 second time on his Honda CRF450 thumper on his second ride to take the win..

    Wade Schultz was also a double class winner, his first coming in the 750cc class with a 3.415 second run on his Yamaha twin, with class point leader Paul Hillard running second on his Kawasaki triple. Schultz also claimed the Open Class win with a 3.445 second time on his big bore Suzuki four banger, with point leading Steve Shafer in second place on his Harley.
