BRADY FAST, DENSON KING AT CAHOKIA CREEK

White City, Illinois, 05/7/11

The Cahokia Creek Dirt Riders held their first night hill climb of 2011 at their clubgrounds near White City, Illinois, with ‘Dangerous’ Dylan Brady and Josh Denson emerging with top honors.

Matt Peters started the Fast Time war in the first round with a 3.755 second time in the 250cc class, then beat that himself with a 3.500 second run on his KTM380 in the 450cc class. Cody Jenner lowered the time even more in the 600cc class with a 3.451 second run on his Honda.

In second round action, however, ‘Dangerous’ Dylan Brady lived up to his nickname and set an astounding low time of 3.363 seconds on his KTM380 to take the win in the 450cc class, and the Fast Time of the night award. He paid a very painful price, however, as he crashed hard over the top and was injured so badly he had to be transported to a Springfield hospital by air. As of this writing, I understand Dylan is recuperating with a broken leg so the teenager from Ridge Farm will be out of action for quite a while.. It was his third consecutive Fast Time in only three events in 2011. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action soon.

Peters first round time held up for second place with Cody Jenner third.

Jenner was a double class winner, claiming the wins in both the 600cc and 600cc four stroke classes. His first round fast time of 3.451 seconds in the 600cc class held up all night for that class win, with Troy Camerer second in 3.545 seconds and Josh Denson third. His first round run of 3.719 seconds in the 600cc four stroke class would have been good for that class win also, but he beat it himself on his second ride with an even better 3.554 second run on his CR450. Camerer was second again with Mike Wargo claiming third.

Mike (the ‘Pulverizer’) Pulver also enjoyed a double class win evening, his first coming in the Senior (+40) class. Jon Creek set the best time in that class with a 3.984 second time on his first run, but Pulver slipped under that with a 3.813 second time on his second time to claim the win. Creek took second with John Brady third.

Pulver’s second win came in the 400cc stock class, with a 4.246 second time on his first ride that held up all night. Micah King was second with William Miller third.

‘Lightning’ Levi Peters took his third straight Youth Fast Time award as he sailed his KX85 over the top in 4.882 seconds on his first ride to win the 85cc Junior Mini class. Andrew Fortner was second with Derick Bell third.

Other youth class results saw Brodie Bennett winning the 50cc class with Ian ‘Chainsaw’ Brown second. Charles Helfrich took the 65cc class win with Derick Bell second while Tanner King was the 85cc Senior Mini winner with Kirk Davis second.

Josh Denson claimed the win in the King Of The Hill one run winner take all class for the ten fastest riders of the night. Denson took the class with a good 3.506 second time with Cody Jenner running second with a 3.590 second time and Matt Peters third just a tick behind him in 3.591 seconds..
