Shane Green, from Georgetown, Illinois, ran his 2008 Overall Fast Time streak to three in a row at the Central Illinois Motorcycle Club’s night hillclimb on May 24.  Riding his KX500 in the 600cc class, he topped the 100 foot wall in 2.636 seconds to find himself in second place at the break, behind Luke Parmeter, who had set the first round fast time with a 2.589 second run.  In second round action, however, Green nailed a perfect ride, flying over the top in a sizzling 2.492 seconds to take the class win, and the Fast Time of the night.  He remained undefeated in the 600cc class in 2008.

Green’s undefeated in the 250cc and 450cc classes came to an end, however.  In the 250cc class, Lukas Eichinger took the win  2.583 seconds with Matt Peters a very close second in 2.586 seconds.  Green was third, only 15 thousandths Of a second off the lead with a 2.598 second time.

In the 450cc class, Peters again defeated Green with a 2.598 second winning time, besting Green’s 2.636 seconds by less than 4 hundreths of a second.  Brian Klett claimed third.

Brett Kalaher continued his unbeaten streak in the 85cc Junior Mini class, and also took the 2008 Youth Fast Time , with a 3.075 second time to win his class.  Cade Gullion was second in 5.405 seconds.

The Kalaher family enjoyed a good night as Brett’s big brother, Schuyler, claimed the win in the 200cc class with a 2.868 second time, Chris Peters running second.

The Peters family enjoyed a similar evening, as Matt Peters’ big brother, Mark, took the win in the Senior (+40) class, taking the win on his KTM550 in 2.803 seconds. Mark barely edged the District 15 Hillclimb Referee, Scott Petty, who posted a 2.808 second run on his CR500. Rich Matthews was also fast with a 2.848 second third place time.

In other youth class action, Reece Hutton won the 50cc class with Braden Young second, Dakota ‘D.J.’ Watson was the winner in the 65cc class with Clay Hirsch second, and ‘Jammin’ Joe’ McGure was the fastest in the 85cc Senior Mini class with Andy Eichinger second.
