DISTRICT 15 HILLCLIMB SEASON OPENS AT GOSHEN By: Bud Northrup - Goshen, Indiana -  April 24, 2005

            The District 15 (Indiana) Hillclimb season started on Sunday, April 24 at the Goshen Iron Horsmen’s hill near Middlebury, Indiana.  The cold, wet – and yes, even snowy – weather kept the turnout low, but some came a long way to ride the hill. 

            Jeff Jack came all the way from Wappello, Iowa, and made his trip well worthwhile, claiming four class wins.  Riding his YZF250 thumper, Jack took the Senior (+40) class win with a 5.787 second ride, edging the District 15 Hillclimb Referee, Scott Petty, who topped the hill in 5.973 seconds.  Jack also claimed the 600cc 4-Stroke class win with a 5.924 second run on the Yamaha, but wasn’t through yet, as he brought the little thumper back yet again and took the win in the 400cc Stock class with a 5.942 second run – a pretty good day’s production for the good running Yamaha.   Turning to his KX 500, Jack claimed his fourth win of the day with a 6.279 second run in the Open Stock class. 

            Mike Raugh came in from Twin Lake, Michigan to claim the Fast Time award, topping the hill in a sizzling 4.343 seconds on his KX500 to win the 600cc class.
