Re: new rules?

Well I'm not going to argue with you - either way, the decision isn't up to me. As noted, the only thing that can be done about it would be to submit a rule change request to the AMA. For the record, I have long expressed the opinion that AMA pro hillclimbers should be allowed to compete at the amat...

Re: new rules?

Well, whether you agree with the rule or not, it is what it is...and it applies to all sports. Wouldn't make much sense to have Ryan Dungey compete at Loretta Lynn's either.

You can always submit a rule change request to the AMA if you like. But as it stands, the rule is crystal-clear.

Re: new rules?

That is false, and the issue is clearly laid out in the AMA rulebook - you just have to read it. I have copies of the AMA rulebook since 2012 - and I am guessing this rule existed long before then as well. In each one, point 11 in the first section under Track Racing says this: "AMA Pro Racing-...

Re: new rules?

No new rule was made...because it was already on the books. The AMA rulebook states that if you hold an AMA pro license (for any sport), you can't compete in an amateur championship event.

That rider shouldn't have been allowed to sign up for last year's amateur hillclimb championship.

Only 2 weeks left to register for nationals!

There's just 2 weeks left now to register for the 2016 AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship at the brand-new Thunder Ridge facility in Neoga, IL! http://www.kingofthehill.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/fetters-1024x201.png We just had our shake-down event for the new location this past weekend, and had ...

2001 Suzuki DR-Z400E - with street title! Excellent Condition

This 2001 Suzuki DR-Z400E is in exceptionally good condition - it's been owned since it was bought new by my dad...who's over 70 years old now. Goes without saying that it hasn't seen a lot of action. You might be thinking that a DR-Z isn't street legal. You'd be right...usually. Dad had the necessa...

Re: 2016 nationals

It's been a really long time since you drew for riding position...I believe at least a decade. People have a tendency to wait until the last second to send in their entries, which makes things really hard on the clubs - so at some point someone had the bright idea to tie your entry date to your ridi...

Cycle USA D17 schedule correction

Please note that the latest issue of Cycle USA shows an incorrect D17 schedule - it lists the June 11th & 12th Pleasure Riders M/C events as being in Cayuga, IN (their normal clubgrounds) - those events are NOT at that location. They are at the new Thunder Ridge facility in Neoga, IL - where nat...

Re: Red wing

The hill will be the way it's been for the past few years, so regular attendees won't be surprised. Two sizable jumps within the first 100' or so, then a big jump in the middle of the hill and a big jump at the top. Not a hill to go fast on if your suspension isn't up to snuff ;)

Re: 750 triple Power numbers....??Mine is the fastest ever....

lol, sorry...I was referring to the wheelbase, not the motor ;)

Seems like we usually have our triples somewhere between 68 and 70 inches. Hard to find a balance with them getting traction, and being flyswatters.
