A note from the family:

The family of Dan Mears would like to thank his Hillclimbing family for all of the love and support you’ve shown us through this difficult time.  We really do appreciate it and you.  A special thank you to Rob Redmann for organizing and orchestrating, and all of you who participated, in the “Motorcycle Salute” at the cemetery.  It was very special and we know that Dan would have thought it pretty cool.  We also appreciate Rob Redmann and Ryan Peterson for being pall bearers. We’re sure those of you that went to the cemetery noticed that Dan is now at the “Top of the Hill” for eternity, as is only appropriate.  All of us, and you too, are going to miss Dan terribly.  Just remind yourselves, as we will, that he really isn’t gone since his spirit will live forever in our hearts and memories.  All of you can count on him cheering for you as you continue with your climbing.  Once again, we, Dan’s family, thank you all for everything.  You’ve helped us tremendously.

Rob Redmann has had some stickers made in remembrance of Danny, and is selling them at district 16 and 23 events...or, give him a call at 507-254-7522 to see about getting some. All of the proceeds will go to Danny's daughter MaKayla, perhaps in a college fund or a CD or something.
