Jon Creek, from Avon, Indiana, must really like the 90 foot cliff the Central Illinois M/C calls a hill. Creek grabbed his second fast time award of the season – the first coming on this same hill just three weeks earlier. He had to come from behind in the 600CC class, as he was below the middle of the pack at intermission. Butch Fetters had set the time to beat at 2.407 seconds in the first round on his KX500, and Creek’s 2.726 had him in 8^th place. But on his second ride, he nailed the win with a high flying 3.383 second run on his CR500. Fetters took second with Jared Mckay running third with a good 2.466 second time on his KX500. Honda riders Lane Schultz and Andy Fortner filled out the top five spots.

Matt Peters enjoyed yet another double win night, taking his first in the 250cc class with a come from behind 2.524 second time on his Honda for the win. Jon Creek had set the best time in the first round with a 2.603 second run on his RM250, but had to settle for third as Jared McKay also slipped under him in the second round with a 2.582 second time on his classy Yamaha.

Peters second win came in the 450cc class on his KTM380 with a very good 2.499 second time. Paul Hillard was second on his 350 Yamaha twin followed by Mike Peters and his RM400 in third. Peters is the District point leader in both the 250cc and 450cc classes, and Creek is leading the 600cc class.

Billy Tom Hanes also extended his district point lead with a win in the 125CC class. Riding a CR125, ‘Smilin’ Bill’ stopped the clock in 3.052 seconds for the win, with Brent Bowman close behind him with a 3.086 second time on his Honda. Josh Mingee has been running strong this year on his CR125, and carded a 3.209 second time for third, with Mike Popham and Alan ‘Big Al’ Petty taking 4^th and 5^th.

Mike Popham and Shane Green both took wins and stretched their point leads in the 85CC Mini classes. Popham, riding a YZ85 Yamaha, soared over the top in 3.323 seconds to take the Senior Mini win, barely quick enough to beat Steven Joe ‘Goose’ Weaver, who carded a 3.389 second time on his KX85. Green claimed his 7^th win in 8 climbs on his YZ85 with a 3.393 second time in the Junior Mini class, with Blake Cappello in second on his KX85 with a 3.835 second run.

In other youth action, ‘Jammin Joe’ McGurer was the winner in the 65cc class with a 4.834 second time on his KX60, with his buddy, ‘Joltin Jake’ Wood crashing at 88 feet on his KX65 for second place. Tiny Graham Cornwell thrilled the crowd in the 50cc Automatic class, as he took his Honda 50 48 feet up the steep slope for the win. Logan Moody, the District points leader, managed 40 feet on his Polini for second.

Other amateur class winners were Jake Tackitt in the 200cc class, Butch Fetters in the 600 4-stroke class, and Wade Schultz in the 750 class. Lane Schultz was the Open class winner, Mark Peters was the best of the Seniors, and Bud Northrup rode unopposed in both the Super Senior and Open Stock classes. Randy ‘Buzz’ Green took the Pushrod class win, R.J. Watson grabbed the 400cc Stock win and Paul Hillard was the best of the Quads.
