Cody Jenner came close to winning the fast time trophy and money at the Central Illinois M/C Saturday night event, and was primed for a win on Sunday. On Sunday, Jenner didn’t waste any time at all, as he flew his Honda end over end over the top in a startling 2.586 seconds. ‘Fast Andy’ Fortner, the fast time guy from the night before, was his closest challenger in the 600cc class with a very quick 2.681 second run. His closest challenge for the fast time, however, came in the Open Class from Jason Northrup, who brought his Jeff Thomas built YZ1220F Yamaha to the line – with assistance from Cody Jenner! Northrup twisted the throttle to it’s full stop position and the big four cylinder rocketed off the line and blasted up the hill, flying over the breaker at 70 feet with just the slightest of sideways kick on the rear wheel, and carded a 2.613 second time - 3/100’s slower than the Jenner time.

    Northrup did have a very good day, and weekend, however, claiming a ‘double double’ as he claimed the wins in both 750cc and Open Classes each day, running his win streak on the Kawasaki Triple to nine. Matt Peters was also a ‘double double’ winner, taking the 250cc and 450cc classes both days.

    The Neoga club also awards a Fast Time plaque to the fastest of the youth riders. ‘Blazin Blake’ Cappello, riding a KX85, took the plaque on this day with an outstanding 3.643 second time to win the 85CC Senior Mini Class. ‘Jammin Joe’ McGurer was the only other youth rider to break into the threes. Riding his KX65 in the 85CC Junior Mini Class, McGurer squirted over the top in 3.942 seconds for that class win. In other youth action, Jeremiah Lyday took the 50cc class win for the second straight day on his Cobra, and Brett Kalaher did the same in the 65cc class on his KX60.
