Shane Green had a perfect day in the rain postponed Saturday night race run on Sunday morning and it looked as if he would repeat his performance at the regularly scheduled Sunday event. But Eric Wheelwright denied him that success.  Green and Wheelwright together accounted for all six of the top six times.

Green took the first round lead in the 250cc class, and bettered his time with a 4.515 second run while Wheelwright overtook Mike Popham and Blake Cappello with a 4.590 second time for second place.  Green’s time was the Fast Time to that point in time.

Mike Popham took the first round lead in the 450cc class with a 4.764 second ride (Fast Time at that time) with Green in third place behind Popham and Wheelwright..  In the second round, Green flew his KTM over in 4.624 seconds to take the class win with Popham and Wheelwright in 2d and 3^rd. 

In 600cc class action, Wheelwright took the first round lead with a 4.529 second time (fast to that point) while Green crashed hard at 140 feet.  No one was able to match Wheelwright’s time in the class, except for Eric himself, who posted a second round 4.241 second run for the win and the overall Fast Time.  His first round time was fourth fastest of the day, giving him the fastest as well as the fourth and fifth fastest times.  Green responded with a very quick 4.408 second run on his second ride to claim second place in the class, and posted the second, third and sixth.fastest times of the day.

In youth class action, Logan Moody enjoyed a double win day.  His first came in the 65cc where he took the first round lead with a 6.929 second ride, then bettered it to 6.557 seconds in the second round. Morgan Wheelwright (Eric’s little girl) claimed second in 7.345 seconds.  Moody returned with his KX85 to win the 85cc Junior Mini class also, but had to overtake Brett Kalaher who took the first round lead with a 6.694 second time.  Moody blitzed the hill in 5.997 seconds on his second run to take the win from Kalaher.

In other Youth action, D.J. Watson was the only 50cc rider to top the hill, doing it in 9.192 seconds.  Rylee Dowers took second with a 104 foot effort.  Jammin’ Joe McGurer took the 85cc Senior Mini class with a 5.883 second first round ride, also winning him the Youth Fast Time award for the second straight time.  Dylan Brady claimed second with a 6.307 second ride.

Then came the last class -the  Kaleb Northrup (Kingofthehill.org)  sponsored King of the Hill race – a one run winner take all event for the top ten fastest riders of the day.  Wheelwright posted an early Fast Time with a 4.396 second high flying ride.  It looked as if that time would hold up, but Justin Trent, running second from last, flew his Honda over in 4.375 seconds to snatch the King trophy and money from Wheelwright.  Veteran Senior Class rider Al Hoskins was third with a 5.147 second time.
