On Sunday, June 27, it was Paul Hillard who took the Fast Time honors at the Pleasure Riders hill climb near Cayuga, Indiana. Riding his Kawasaki 750cc triple, Hillard screamed over the top in 4.463 seconds on his first ride in the 750cc class, taking the class lead from District point leader Jason Northrup, then sat back and watched as rider after rider tried – and failed – to match his time. Paul did NOT take a ‘free ride’ in the second round, quite satisfied with the results he already had – his second win of the weekend. Hillard’s closest challenger for the fast time award was Brent Bowman, riding a Jenkins RevLoc Honda. Bowman flew over the top in 4.485 seconds on that bike to take the 600cc class win. Josh Denson was close behind Bowman with a 4.502 second time on Butch Fetters’ KX500.

Matt Peters had another double win day, winning the 450cc and 600cc four stroke classes again. Peters rides a KTM 380 in the 450cc class and rode Butch Fetters’ KTM520 in the four stroke class. He had four class wins for the weekend.

Mark Schroeder got his double win day, running his weekend total to three on his stock length YZ250. Schroeder, the 2003 defending National Champion, showed off his skills as he carded a nice 4.690 second time for the Stock class win ahead of John Michael Gocken and ‘Dr John’. He also took the 250cc class win with an even better 4.520 second time on his first ride.

In youth class action. ‘Jammin’ Joe’ McGurer and Caleb Emory were both double winners for the weekend. McGurer took the 65cc class wins on both days on his KX65, while Emory did the same in the 85cc Junior Mini class on his KX85. The Pleasure Riders also awarded a Youth Fast Time Trophy each day, with Mike Popham claiming it on this day.
