Young Shane Green came very close to a perfect night at the Pleasure Riders night hill climb with two class wins, a second place, and the Fast Time Award.  Green set the early fast time mark at 4.435 seconds on his YZ250 on the 155 foot hill on his first ride in the 250cc class, then followed that with a class leading 4.623 second run on his KTM 380 in 450cc first round action.  But he beat his own fast time in the 600cc class, flying his KX500 over the top in a sizzling 4.320 seconds – a time which would hold up all night long for the Fast Time trophy and $100 cash prize.

            Scott Pearson spoiled Green’s bid for a perfect night by sailing his CRF450 thumper over the top in 4.486 seconds to snatch the 450cc class win on his second ride.  John Michael Gocken was second to Green in the 250cc class with a good 4.430 second run – less than 1/100^th of a second behind.  Tom Brown posted a 4.410 second time on his CR500 to take the second spot in the 600cc class.  Mark Schroeder was Green’s closest challenger for the fast time, carding an excellent 4.333 seconds on his stock length YZ250 to win the 400cc Stock class – only 13/1,000’s slower than Green.  Justin James claimed that second place spot with a 4.707 second run.

            Dakota Blakeney took the Youth Fast Time award with 5.040 second time to win the 85cc Junior Mini class with Joe McGurer taking second in 5.535 seconds.  Kolt Kinsler topped the hill on his KTM50 in 6.346 seconds for the 50cc win with Cole Garriott second.  Brett Kalaher added another win in the 65cc class with a 6.035 second time with Logan Moody second, while Jeremy James stretched his points lead in the 85cc Senior Mini class with a 5.827 second winning ride with Dylan Brady claiming the second spot.

            Mike Pulver and Nick Isotov were both double class winners.  Pulver won both the Senior (40+) and Open Stock classes on his CR500 Honda, while Isotove rode his big and fast Harley to wins in both the Open and Open Pushrod classes.

            The Sunday edition of the doubleheader weekend featured young Mike Popham setting the early first round fast time in the 250cc class with an excellent 4.262 second first round ride with Green close behind with a 4.382 second effort.  In 600cc class action, however, Tom Brown flew his Honda high over the top on his first ride to card a 4.140 seconds, to take that class lead, and the Fast Time, into intermission.  That time would stand up the entire day.  Green was fast again – topping the hill in 4,233 seconds to finish second in the 600 class – and second fastest of the day.  Randy ‘The Rocketman’ Trosper was also running well, as he carded a 4.256 second time on his Honda to claim the third spot in the 600cc class – and third fastest time of the day.

            Popham’s first round time held up for the win in the 250cc class, with Green taking second.  Popham was the only double class winner of the day, as he rode his YZ450F Yamaha to the 600 4-stroke class win with a good 4.495 second time on his first ride.  District 17 Hill Climb Director Gordon Green put his Yamaha thumper over in 4.785 seconds to claim the second spot.

            Dakota Blakeney took the Youth Fast Time award for the second straight day on his CR85, posting a 4.989 second time to win the 85cc Junior Mini class.  Joe McGurer was second behind him with a 5.509 second run on his KX85.  National number 3 Dakota Watson claimed the 50cc class win with a good 6.407 second winning ride on his Cobra, with Kolt Kinsler running second in 6.635 seconds on his KTM.  Brett Kalaher and Jeremy James repeated their Saturday performances by winning the 65cc and 85cc Senior Mini classes.  Logan Moody finished second behind Kalaher while Dylan Brady claimed second in the Senior Mini class.
