The Pleasure Riders continued their opening weekend of the District 15 and 17 Hill Climb season on Sunday on their 155 foot hill near Cayuga, Indiana.

The fast time war between Huizenga and Wheelwright of the night before, with input from Jack Tackitt, continued.  Huizenga posted an early fast time of 4.409 seconds in the 250cc class on his first ride, with Wheelwright running second with a 4.473 second effort.  Those times would hold up for the top 2 spots in that class.  In 450cc action, Wheelwright took the class lead with a first round 4.529 second run with Huizenga second in 5.031 seconds.  Huizenga was a bit better in the second round with a 4.863 second effort, but Wheelwright soared over the top in an excellent 4.375 seconds to seal the class win and set a new overall fast time.

Jake Tackitt took the first round lead in the 600cc class with a fine 4.432 second run on his CR500, with Wheelwright (4.677) and Huizenga (4.965) running second and third.  Wheelwright improved his time to 4.460 seconds on his second ride, but couldn’t improve on his third place standing.  Huizenga, however, did improve on his first ride – a lot – a 4.298 second high flying ride to take over the class lead from Tackitt and the Fast Time from Wheelwright.  Tackitt couldn’t improve on his first ride and settled for second place.

Young Logan Moody enjoyed a double win day in the youth classes.  His first round 6.342 second run on his first ride was the best of the 65cc class riders, with Cole Garriott claiming second in 6.859 seconds.  Returning with his KX85, Moody took the first round lead in the 85cc Junior Mini class with a 6.287 second ride, with Cody Larabee in second with a 6.897 second time.  In the second round, defending class champion Brett Kalaher carded a 6.325 second time to move in to second place, and Moody emphasized his win by beating his own time with a great 6.078 second class winning time, and setting a youth Fast Time mark at that time.

Dakota Blakeney, however, burst Moody’s Fast Time hopes as he posted a 5.737 second time to overtake ‘Jammin Joe’ McGurer in the 85cc Senior Mini class to claim that win and youth Fast Time for the second straight day.

Mike Bacon continued his winning ways by winning both the Senior (+40) and Super Senior (+50) classes for the second straight day.  His first round 5.267 second run on his CR500 held up for the Senior class win, with Mike Franklin close behind him with a 5.278 second time on his second ride.  Bacon brought his Honda right back for the Super Senior action and delivered a first round 5.393 second time which was good enough for the win, even though he beat the time himself with a 5.276 second run in the second round.  Steve Daniels rode his KTM250 to a second place finish with a 5.865 second time.

Other riders claiming two wins for the weekend were National Champion Dakota ‘DJ’ Watson (50cc), Jake Tackitt (200cc), Mike Popham (600 4-Stroke), Tom ‘Wild Child’ Daniels (750cc), Paul Hillard (Open), Tom Brown (Open Stock) and Jim Mahan (4 stroke Quad).
