The Pleasure Riders M/C opened the District 15 & 17 hill climb seasons on April 30 with a night/day doubleheader. ‘Lightning’ Levi Peters and ‘Dangerous’ Dylan Brady emerged as the dominant riders in the youth and amateur classes.

Saturday night saw Matt Peters set the first round early Fast Time at 3.824 seconds in the 250cc class, but Brady posted a sizzling 3.735. second run in the 600cc class to take the Fast Time lead into the break. Peters responded with an even better 3.728 second run in the second round to move ahead, but ‘Dangerous Dylan’ was not to be denied as the teenager flew his Honda high over the top in an amazing 3.708 seconds to take the class win and the coveted Fast Time award.

Peters still had a great night as he claimed two class wins, the first in the 250cc class where his first round time on his CR250 held up to beat Chris Huizenga, who posted a 3.867 second time for second place with Brady claiming third on his Honda.

Peters also won the 450cc class with a very fast 3.755 second time on his second ride on his KTM380 to overtake Huizenga who had posted the first round leading time of 3.845 seconds. Huizenga’s second run of 3.805 seconds was good, but not enough to catch Peters, with Troy Camerer running third.

Peters’ son, ‘Lightning’ Levi, won both the classes he entered. His 4.903 second first round ride on his KX65 was good for the win in the 65cc youth class, with Derick Bell second and Andrew Fortner third. In the 85cc Junior Mini class, Levi crashed on his first ride, but sailed his KX85 over the top of the 160 foot hill in 4.617 seconds for the class win, as well as taking the Youth Fast Time award. Andrew Fortner was second in 4.683 seconds with Calob Blain third.

Other Youth Class winners were Brodie Bennet in the 50cc and Clay Bowyen in the 85cc Senior Mini class.

Mark Kirking was a double class winner, his first win in the Open class on his big Harley in 4.190 seconds. His second win came on his KX500 in the Senior (+40) class with a good 3.828 second time, with Mike Pulver second in 3.863 seconds and Andy Fortner third.

On Sunday, Troy Camerer started the Fast Time war with a 3.833 second time on his Honda in the first round 600cc class action to take the lead into intermission. In the second half, Peters moved into a temporary lead with a 3.752 second time in the 450cc class, only to see that time beat first by ‘Fast Andy’ Fortner with a 3.744 second run and again by Chris Huizenga with a 3.743 second time in the 600cc class. But Brady put them all away with a eye-popping 3.706 second picture perfect ride, the fastest of the day and the whole weekend, to repeat his Saturday performance of winning the 600cc class and taking the Fast Time award. A truly great weekend effort by the teenager from Ridge Farm, Illinois.

The ‘main contenders’ for the Fast Time also had good nights with Camerer winning the 600cc 4-stroke class, Huizenga winning the 250cc class, Peters winning the 450cc class and Fortner taking the Senior (+40) class win.

Levi Peters was the only double class winner of the day, repeating his Saturday performance with wins in the 65cc and 85cc Junior Mini classes. His 4.826 second run on his KX65 was well ahead of the pack to take the 65cc class win. Charles Helfrich was second with a 5.481 second time with Jon Brian third. Levi was challenged in the 85cc Junior Mini class, however. He delivered a 4.630 second time to take the first round lead, but Calob Blain took the class lead in the second round with a very nice 4.589 second run. Levi was up to the challenge, however, and responded with a class winning 4.549 second run on his KX85 to take the class win and the Youth Fast Time award for the second straight day. Dakota (.D.J) Watson was third with a 4.640 second time.
