Tom Daniels picked up his ninth Fast Time award of the season on his 750cc Kawasaki ‘Wild Thing’, turning a blistering 3.963 second ride in the 750cc class.   He had to come from behind, as Jason Northrup, riding his National #2 Kawasaki triple, posted a fine 4.038 second run in the first round to take the class lead, and Fast Time, into intermission.  Daniels was the only rider to break into the 3’s all night.  Andy Fortner claimed third in the class on his Triple with a 4.384 second time.

Northrup had a pretty good night overall, as he added another second and two firsts to his 750 class second.  The 25 year old veteran was making his first appearance in district riding, having come home from Arizona to ride the Nationals.  He also set the first round time to beat in the 600cc class, as he flew a CR500 borrowed from Gayle Jenkins over the top in 4.318 seconds to take the lead into intermission.  In the second round, however, Randy ‘Rocketman’ Trosper flew his Honda over the top in a blazing 4.236 seconds to take the class lead.  Northrup responded with another fast ride, but his 4.311 seconds would leave him in second place.  Andy Fortner claimed third in this class also with a run of 4.377 seconds on his Honda.

Northrup’s wins came on his Husaberg 501, where he was the best in both the Open Stock and 600cc four Stroke classes.  His 4.709 second time was a winner in the Open Stock, with Jammie Brown his closest challenger on a CR500 with a 4.959 second time. He was even faster on the stock length Husaberg in the 600cc Four Stroke class, nailing a 4.511 second time, well ahead of Steve Shafer, who claimed second with a 4.989 second run on his KTM550.

Scott ‘Scooter’ Sheets Jr was also a double winner, doing it on his hot Harley.  His first win came in the Open Class where he carded a 4.332 second first round ride, and didn’t ride again as no one in the class could match him.  David Price came all the way from Maryland to run his beautiful Triumph, and took second place with a 4.441 second run.  Scooter’s second win came in the Open Pushrod class where, again, he had to ride only once.  His 4.436 second first round ride held up for the win with Price again taking second on his Triumph.

Sheets’ uncle, Bob ‘Flyin’ Fish’ Fisher picked up another win in the Senior Class, riding his nephew’s Honda over the top in a very quick 4.299 seconds, just 2/1’000’s quicker than the class leader, Randy Trosper, who had to settle for second with a 4.301 second run.  Kevin McKay, Gayle Jenkins and Tim Wiggins filled in the top five spots.

Gayle Jenkins Stretched his Super Senior class lead with yet another win on his CR500.  His first round 4.647 second run held up for the win with Richard Potter and Bud Northrup running second and third.

In youth class action, Donnie Robbins edged closer to Dylan Brady in the season points race by taking the 50cc class win on his Cobra with a 5.945 second run.  Brady claimed second with a 6.435 second run on his Polini.  Justin Trent stretched his D-15 point lead in the 85cc Junior Mini class with a 5.479 second winning time on his KX80, with Mike Popham second on his YZ80 with a 5.618 second run.  Brent Bowman was the fastest of the Senior Minis with a 5.169 second winning time on his RM80, with class point leader Billy Hanes taking second on his KX80 in 5.247 seconds.

Other amateur class winners included Damon Mayo in the 125cc class, Brent Warfel in the 200cc class and Ray Aguilar in the 250cc class.  Jared McKay took the 400cc class win on Steve Shafer’s YZ400 and Paul Hillard was the fastest of the Quads on his Banshee.
