Jacob ‘Crazy Jake’ Tackitt had another perfect day at the King City Dirt Riders hill climb on August 21.  Just like the night before, Tackitt won both classes he entered, and claimed the Fast Time of the Day award.

Tackitt sailed his CR500 over the 150 foot hill in 3.124 seconds on his first ride in the 600cc class to take the first round lead, with ‘Fast Andy’ Fortner hot on his heels with a 3.178 second time.  In the second round, Fortner flew his Honda over the top in 3.116 seconds to take the lead – but only briefly, as Tackitt responded with an even faster 3.049 second time to take the class win and the Fast Time award. Justin Trent topped out in 3.148 seconds to claim third.

Tackitt’s other victory came in the 200cc class where he overtook Nick Skorch for the win.  Skorch stopped the clock in 3.744 seconds to take the class lead into intermission, with Tackitt sitting second with a 3.751 second time.  But in the second round, Jake got a better hole shot and carded a 3.650 second time to take the win.  Lisa Ellis took third with a nice 4.045 second run. All were riding vintage KDX200’s.

In Youth Class action, ‘Jammin Joe’ McGurer flew his KX85 over the top in 3.822 seconds to take the first round lead in the Junior Mini class, and that time held up all day to win the class, and take the Youth Fast Time award.  His closest challenger was Brett ‘Wild Worm’ Kalaher, who topped the hill in 3.893 seconds on his brother Schuyler’s KX85. ‘Joltin Jake’ Wood was the third place winner with a 3.980 second time on his RM85.

In other youth action, Nathaniel Blevins was the 50cc winner with Steve ‘Bug’ Coon Jr second, Brett Kalaher took the 65cc class win with Matt Kinkin second, and Jesse Seals was the fastest in the Senior  Mini class with Damon Wright in second place.

Paul Hillard was a double class winner, taking the wins in both the 750cc class on his Kawasaki triple, and in the 2-Stroke Quad class on his screaming Banshee.

The Hart family had a good day with young Paul claiming the 125cc class win on his Huskey, and old Randy taking the Super Senior (AARP eligible) class win.
